Is a Rwandan female and a freelance writer for children’s stories since 2015. She has so far written more than five titles for children. She has been the Chairperson and founding member of Rwanda Children Book Forum and has 10 years’ experience working in the field of Gender and Education as a consultant, on short term or full-time basis. She is currently a PhD student in her final year, writing her proposal. She earned her Master’s degree in education from the University of Edinburgh UK, (2005), her Bachelors in Education from Makerere University in Uganda, Kampala in 2002. She worked as a lecturer at the University of Rwanda College of Education, former Kigali Institute of Education between 2005-2007 where she also worked as Head of Department for Educational Planning and Management. From 2007 she worked for Rwanda Women Network as national coordinator before she moved to the Ministry of Education where she worked as M&E and gender specialist. She also worked with WDA as Girl’s education specialist and worked as Project manager for the Ministry of Gender and Family promotion. In between Winnie had consultancies with Girl Effect Rwanda, Firelight Foundation, ACODEV Uganda, and today, she is the gender and Inclusion Advisor with Chemonics International.
