Uganda Women Writers Association- FEMRITE is a non governmental organisation with a membership for women writers in Uganda. Founded in 1995, FEMRITE is a membership organisation committed to consolidating women’s writing in Uganda and Africa. It aims to promote women writers and create space for the women to write. Our programs and activities are aimed at fulfilling the FEMRITE strategic plan mandate which mainly centers around promoting the writing in literature like short stories, novels, and poetry.
The FEMRITE Team consists of the current working Board and the Secretariat.

Juliet Kushaba is a Ugandan writer and feminist scholar. Some of her creative works have been published by FEMRITE. She is a doctoral student at Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR).
